If you are new to the world of dowsing I would like to welcome you to dowsing. This is an ancient  art  practiced by many  since  before the dawn of recorded history. Dowsing is a way of finding that which is not seen. Dowsing has been used for locating such things as water, sometimes called “water witching. During World War 2 General George Patton used dowsers to locate water for his troops while fighting the German Army in North Africa. It has also been used to locate oil and minerals. Power companies use dowsers to find underground utilities and in the days of old, midwifes used dowsing to confirm a pregnancy. Some doctors who practice holistic medicine also use dowsing in their practice. One of the first questions everyone asks is “how does it work”? The answer  is no one knows. Some believe that dowsing allows us tap into our subconscious which is tuned to the universal conscious. Dr. Albert Einstein, who also was a dowser, summed it up best when he said “I know very well that many scientists consider dowsing as they do astrology, as a type of ancient superstition. According to my conviction this is, however, unjustified. The dowsing rod is a simple instrument which shows the reaction of the human nervous system to certain factors which are unknown to us at this time.” So as you begin your journey into dowsing I wish you the best.
